In addition to working on our collaboration with the Pacific Science Center's Tinker Tank we spent some time testing possible configurations for a massive inflatable costume for the Fremont Solstice Parade. The Parade costume will be consuming our time this month as we prototype and then quickly pivot into fabrication on a large nylon inflatable costume meant to be worn by a group. We determined that mascot fans (small battery powered vertical blowers) are acceptable if we use 3 or more per 100 cubic feet of volume. We're going to pursue a grant funding for the nylon portion of the costume which will be quite expensive. We'll also be looking for alternative nylon sources like parachute and tent remnants.
